Child Rights
The persistence of discriminatory practices, combined with the scarcity of economic and natural resources force many children in Rajasthan into adulthood at an early age. They go without a nurturing childhood and instead suffer from abuse, forced labour, child marriage and receive little education. GVNML works through youth education and by raising awareness of children’s rights to defend young people from these cruelties. Children’s collectives have been set up by proactive young people to act as advocates for the rights of their peers, and resource centres provide a safe place to play and learn. Children given the opportunity to grow in supportive homes will be part of a new generation spreading the importance of freedom for all.
