The Norwegian Government funded REDD+ project portfolio in Tanzania is creating significant positive results across the country. Along with the participation of multiple institutions in the nationally anchored research project on climate change, an important foundation for Tanzania’s future REDD activities, is being developed. The mid-term review covered a variety of key REDD issues such as governance and land-tenure issues, incentives for communities to participate in projects, and baseline assessment and participatory carbon monitoring challenges. The mid-term review was carried out during the period June-August 2012, by independent consultants, Deloitte. The findings, opinions and conclusions in the mid-term review reports are those of the consultants. All pilot partners have been given the opportunity to respond to the mid-term review reports in writing. These responses have been made available next to the consultant reports.
